‘Perhaps the most unspoken icon of Indian street life is the sleeping dog. I met countless friendly canines in every city I went to, often sleeping amongst the rubbish and debris of human activity in the hopes of a few scraps to get them through the day. This little guy, seemingly less than a year old, had removed himself from the chaotic activity that the main streets of Leh possessed and had found a quiet, shady corner to lay his head and was undisturbed as I composed him against the blue door and the tumbling bricks behind.’
