‘The Singalila Ridge Trek heads north from Darjeeling in the North-Eastern corner of India and winds in and out of India and Nepal as it makes its way deep into the Himalayas towards Sikkim. The forests are home to exotic wildlife including red pandas and clouded leopards, and fresh strawberries line the sides of the track offering a delightfully sweet snack along the way. Disappointingly, having only been open to tourism since 2014, a guide is now compulsory on the trek given the extensive amount of rubbish left behind in its earlier years. This scene however, offered no such imposition of human ignorance and disrespect.’
